How NCSA Defines Success in College Recruiting

How NCSA Defines Success in College Recruiting

Our research into college recruiting shows that many student-athletes aren’t finding the right college fit. 45 percent of college athletes aren’t listed on the same college team roster the following year. At NCSA, we focus on helping student-athletes find the right college academically, athletically, socially and financially. By taking this approach, NCSA athletes are significantly more likely to not only get recruited but to stay on their college team.

8, 9 and 10-Star Reviews of NCSA

Class of 2017 – Parent – Football
“Coach Ware really worked hard to help our son get looks by schools of all divisions, and ultimately he is being recruited heavily primarily through the NCSA site, rather than high school coaches and local gurus.  My son will be attending a fine institution partly due to Coach Ware and NCSA. Thanks, Tony Smith”

Class of 2020 – Student-Athlete – Baseball
“Y’all are respectful and make me feel confident in my decisions. I feel like I’m talking to a close friend, and I don’t feel uncomfortable. Y’all help me with anything that I need help with and make the online process easier. I wouldn’t know what to do for coaches to look at me without the NCSA staff.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Football
“This is our second son through the program. We liked the program before, but it is amazing how far the company has progressed in 5 years. We belong to our booster club and bring NCSA into conversation when parents ask what we are doing about recruiting.”

Class of 2019 – Student-Athlete – Football
“Being in a small town and a small school, anything to get ahead of other players helps. When you are as serious as wanting to go D1, you have to have something like this. When you are around huge schools, it kind of hides some of the talent there is in a small school like ours. The app and the people working at NCSA have been nothing but an amazing help!”

Class of 2019 – Student-Athlete – Basketball
“The reason I gave NCSA a 10 score is because of how helpful NCSA has been for me. Since the start of my 8th grade year, I have been using this program to help me with my recruiting in the future. 3 years later, in 2018, it’s my junior year and I am starting to start my recruiting process. NCSA has helped me with not just showcasing my athletics but also my academics. I would recommend everyone who is serious about their sport to have NCSA right there by their side. NCSA has an amazing staff with experience and useful information that can help anyone with questions concerns about their recruiting process. Thank you, NCSA, for everything you guys have done for me so far, and for sure my story is not over yet.”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Football
“The reason we gave you a good score was because of the coaches. We first had Coach Hyatte whom both my sons liked very much and were very disappointed when he left NCSA to pursue his own dreams, but they understood. Then we got Coach Demartino but only had him for two weeks when we were told that he was leaving. We got very concerned that this might become a pattern. We just recently talked to our new Coach D. Ware, and after a 30-minute session with Coach Ware, both of my sons, who are twins, felt a very strong connection with this man. One of my sons was so impressed as to the information that Coach Ware relayed to them and the concern that he expressed for their future. It was everything that we expected to receive when we signed up for NCSA. My son wants to personally meet this man now, and he isn’t the type to want to meet people all the time. Coach Ware is very professional, very informative, and very concerned with the goals and aspirations of my twin boys. He sent all that he said he would the very next day, he called our home exactly at the time scheduled, and was a delight to converse with. There should be more people in the world like Coach Ware. He is a special person to be able to relay these feelings over the phone. Please do not take him away from my sons, we have faith that he will help us on their journey to accomplishing their dreams, and we truly believe that he was a God send, yours Truly the Rennie Family.”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Football
“We have recommended several people to NCSA (2 families have entered your program through our feedback to them) because we like the communication with the recruiter, and the website is very up to date with tons of information about the colleges and the continuous effort to reach our 2 sons’ goals to play beyond high school. We’re very happy with the program, especially Coach Martin Hyatt, who was our sons’ recruiting coach. We were disappointment he is leaving NCSA, but the recruiter taking his place seems like a perfect fit for our sons’ future. :)”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Basketball
“I think you do a great job with the video and website program. My son is constantly on the website looking to see if anyone is following him. It encourages him to do his best each time he plays basketball. I think it’s a great tool to promote his love and skill of the game, and it definitely is pushing him in the right direction for furthering his education.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Football
“James Cooper has made leaps and bounds towards teaching my son and helping him achieve his goal of playing college football. He is very knowledgeable and honest and provides and outstanding service.”

Class of 2021 – Parent – Football
“The personal attention to our son from NCSA is awesome. Even after we committed to signing up with you guys, we constantly receive emails, texts, and calls from NCSA inquiring on where Kody is at in his process and advice on his recruiting profile. He is young, so we have some work to do in getting his profile done, but it is less intimidating knowing NCSA is there to help us at any given time. You guys are top notch. Thanks, Scott Morrell”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Soccer
“Thus far our experience has been positive, however we are just beginning. We went with another company with our daughter and were not impressed as we progressed further along in the process. We are optimistic that our experience with our son using NCSA will be different.”

Class of 2019 – Student-Athlete – Swimming
“NCSA has helped me realize that the passion I feel for swimming can be carried over to a college level. I have shared this amazing organization with peers who are, like me, passionate about their sport. The guidance this site provides is easy to follow. The network is amazing. Every time I see that a college coach is looking at my profile makes my dream more real. I’m so excited to be noticed and know that others share my passion.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Basketball
“1. Simple yet effective way to keep in touch with coaches. 2. Comprehensive website. 3. Helpful recruiting coaches who are genuinely interested in getting kids signed with the right school. 4. It works! On my own, I was able to get about 7 coaches interested in my daughter; after joining NCSA, that list has grown to over 50.”

Class of 2016 – Student-Athlete – Volleyball
“Reaching out to coaches is very difficult. You have to go to their website and navigate it to find their information. To do this for 1 college takes time. To do this for 50 colleges takes forever. Then throw in if the college has the major you are looking for and now, you’re talking about something that could take 10 hours just to find the information on that many schools. In addition, we emailed special targeted schools from personal emails and received no response. When we sent using NCSA, we got quick replies from the coaches. I think coaches know that the emails are real, so they don’t just get deleted or glossed over.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Golf
“Coach Schiffbauer was absolutely phenomenal in helping us answer questions that we had regarding all phases of the college recruiting process. His knowledge of all aspects from official visits, to what college may fit best, to how the financials work is quite remarkable. He’s able to break it down into simple terms, so we all could comprehend it!  He is an awesome asset to NCSA, and we look forward to speaking with him again soon! Thank you, Brianna Fitzpatrick and family!”

Class of 2020 – Parent –Football
“I was very excited to get the call to discuss recruiting opportunities. During the call, I was surprised and pleased to have received an emailed evaluation of our son. It felt like our representative had taken time to review film, assess our son’s skill set and apply his abilities with specific colleges. This was the first proactive step on behalf of NCSA that we feel can make a big difference in the recruiting process and we are very excited about it.”

Class of 2021 – Parent – Soccer
“So far, Lindsay has been helpful, patient and clear about this whole process. It’s a little overwhelming getting involved in the athletic recruitment process, and she has taken some of the anxiety away. She suggested some great ways to improve Emily’s performance in play while critiquing her video clips. It’s always helpful for an athlete to hear these things from a coach rather than a parent.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Track
“I can’t say enough about the hard work put in by the NCSA staff. Every time we call, someone is readily available. We were nervous about sending out our first email to a coach, but a staff member stayed on the phone, guiding and giving recommendations while I typed it up. Our son is getting many notices from colleges and receiving information about camps, in addition to being followed by quite a few coaches. Being from a small town, this is just the boost we need. I would definitely recommend NCSA!”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Football
“This program is amazing, plain and simple. From the awesome recruiting coaches and staff, to helping my son become a young man and achieve his dreams. Love, love, love it. And extra hats off to coach Chris Vincent. He’s been amazing to our family and is making the process easier.  Thanks, NCSA family”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Football
“It is the Gold standard for a blueprint on how to get recruited. We also get the added benefit of having Coach Doug Wallace as our Recruiting Coach. He is always genuine and gives us the straight answers on what it takes to be recruited. This past year we were very fortunate and got to meet Coach Wallace at Rivals Camp. Even though he was very busy handling several duties at the Rivals camp, he took the time to meet Holston and me – a very classy gesture on his part that he didn’t need to do. We are very pleased with NCSA and what it offers.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Basketball
“Coach Doyle has been a valuable resource to our family in regards to the recruiting process. He’s always available to answer questions and takes it upon himself to text or call about how Jake is doing. He has also been a great sounding board with questions regarding prep schools and the benefits they offer. Bottom line is that NCSA just didn’t collect the fee and go away, they are still a big part of helping us through the recruiting process. Thanks, Coach Doyle! The Blaisdell Family”

Class of 2020 – Student-Athlete – Baseball
“The primary reason I chose 10 is because NCSA, from what I know, provides the best opportunity for anyone who dreams of playing a collegiate sport. All of the people I have talked with through NCSA are extremely kind and want nothing but the best from me. I’ve already fallen in love with NCSA because I have everything I need to become educated on how the recruiting process works and always have access to ask questions. I would highly recommend NCSA to a friend who dreams of playing a sport in college.”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Baseball
“Professionalism, experience and promptness. I have been very impressed by the professionalism of Coach Andy Drake and the experience his is bringing to my son’s recruiting process. I know Coach Drake has many clients he’s working on behalf of, but he makes sure to give the feeling that Malachi is his top priority. His suggestions and reviews have been invaluable.”

Class of 2019 – Student-Athlete – Softball
“Jaimie is such a huge help in so many ways. She’s helping me keep myself on track, and it feels as though she’s right by me cheering me on. NCSA as a whole is such a wonderful organization filled with so many kind people, urging to help people like me.”

Class of 2018 – Parent – Volleyball
“I already have gotten several of Madison’s teammates onto NCSA. The main reason is the success she’s been having with coaches at games and tournaments. All of the tools and help available for the process is great. I absolutely love Kelly Stuntz! She is not only helpful in directing us, but she helps us emotionally, as well! We are very grateful to NCSA.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Tennis
“In my mind and experience, NCSA is the elite recruiting assistance agency in the country. I’ve checked out most of the others, but NCSA backs it with great membership options, representatives and coaches who truly care, and access to collegiate information specific to the athlete seeking the best fit in school choices. Thank you & bravo!”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Field Hockey
“NCSA has an excellent learning process broken down into manageable bits and timelines, as well as great online resources. Profile exposure is helpful. We like the link to details all in one place. School info helps with initial research and reconfirming as the recruiting process evolves. Great staff; always professional. Recruiting coaches don’t sugar coat opportunities. That’s good. We prefer clear, direct feedback for evaluating purposes, to know how our athletes really look to the college coaches. Thank you for positive encouragement but honest feedback. Coach Cormier is always generous with her time, input, and support. It’s an involved process for sure, but overall, we’re enjoying this recruiting journey. Thanks NCSA!”

Class of 2018 – Parent – Volleyball
“Kelly Stuntz has been a great help to us when we have questions or get in situations we are not sure about. We love that you can track college views, emails etc. The exposure is amazing the match service is a great tool to find out which schools to contact or stay away from. Thrilled!”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Volleyball
“Sue Webber has been a huge help! She has taken a personal interest in my daughter and answers all of my crazy questions as the mom. We couldn’t do this without her! I love being able to see who reads the emails and views the profile. The video NCSA made for my daughter’s profile is excellent.”

Class of 2016 – Student-Athlete – Basketball
“I started late in the recruiting process. I was and still am nervous about signing. NCSA opened doors that I didn’t even know were there. I didn’t know about NAIA, D3 schools, or what a JUCO was. I was amazed of how many schools there are in the nation and how many options I have. It gives you options based on how comfortable you are, and it’s fast and simple. If I needed help, I would just call and the scheduled talks gave lots of information. The service is amazing, and the whole organization just feels like they’re all on my side.”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Soccer
“We have a fantastic recruiting coach. Lindsey understands the challenge firsthand, as she has lived it. Lindsey works and communicates well with my daughter. The support is on point and relevant to the current stage of recruitment. This, in turn, inspires my daughter to continue the hard work. Thanks, Lindsay and NCSA.”

5, 6 and 7-Star Reviews of NCSA

Class of 2021 – Parent – Football
“It’s a little early in the process for us to give a higher score, but the education we have been getting in regards to recruiting has been outstanding. It is also amazing for our son to have direct contact information for any coach he wishes to make contact within the future and to be able to research if a school may be a fit for him. I have recommended NCSA to a friend for her softball player.”

Class of 2021 – Parent – Baseball
“As my son is finishing middle school and beginning his high school baseball season next year, I am excited that we started early and anxious to get his future started. Derek’s recruiting coach has been patient and informative so far. We will really be picking his brain in the near future to help us along.”

Class of 2020 – Student-Athlete – Volleyball
“The NCSA team is very persistent and don’t let you fall through the cracks. They’re always encouraging you to participate in the opportunities offered.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Ice Hockey
“We like how NCSA continually makes contact with us asking for updates and film. The only reason we have not given a higher score is that our son is a sophomore in HS so there hasn’t been a return on our investment yet. We understand Hockey is a different beast from all other sports, and we are patient with the process. We believe NCSA will help with our son’s goal and appreciate and understand the process so far.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Basketball
“I feel NCSA is a great tool to get access to schools. Also, we are getting a lot of info on college camps throughout the country d1-3 level which we hope will aid in Angelo’s exposure and recruitment. Basically, the website helps us with the groundwork to contact colleges. I could imagine how difficult it would be to contact schools through their websites.”

Class of 2019 – Student-Athlete – Basketball
“Every day I get home, I get an email and check what colleges have seen my profile and it’s been successful. One thing that I also can say is that it is worth your money, and that is very helpful when emailing colleges and contacting colleges that you want to go to. Thank you for this experience”

Class of 2018 – Parent – Ice Hockey
“NCSA gave us great exposure to coaches. It’s also very helpful to have an expert in the sport that you can talk to. Drew has been great in not just a cookie cutter approach, but he advises on my son’s own standing in his quest to play hockey in college. Drew is also available for questions.”

Class of 2019 – Student-Athlete – Soccer
“NCSA, according to me, is a steppingstone to reach the college level that athletes like me dream of reaching. It’s the kind of resource that’ll guide you or give you advice on things because they know what college coaches are looking for and what we, as student-athletes, need to match colleges’ needs and wants.”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Basketball
“We are just getting started, so we have a long way to go, however we are excited about where we are at this time in the process.”

Class of 2017 – Parent – Track and Field
“Since we are in the beginning stages, it’s hard for me to grade the effectiveness of the program, much less recommend it to others. I will say that everyone I have been in contact with thus far has been extremely attentive and helpful. I look forward to seeing the progression and how everything unfolds as we move forward.”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Lacrosse
“It is too early in the process to give an evaluation. We are excited about all of the tools given to us through NCSA, but we are in the beginning process. It has opened our eyes as to what needs to be done to get the most out of it, and that is why we joined. We hope over the next few years, we can give you the highest rating as we get closer to Bobby’s junior year and really take advantage of everything you offer.”

Class of 2019 – Student-Athlete – Soccer
“They help you out when you need their assistance. Also, it’s a step ahead to be noticed. It’s just a little difficult being sure about what answers to give, having to do with options of colleges or interest, because as a teenager I’m not sure if in the long run I might change my opinions on my likes. Soccer will always be my passion, of course.”

Class of 2020 – Student-Athlete – Football
“I struggle with what to do going forward, as I have visited one large university and need to visit more colleges to know if I want to attend a small, medium or big school. Obtaining advice on when to meet with my high school college counsellor is key – as it is difficult to make a list of top 5, middle 5 and reach colleges until I know where I should focus my attention. As a Canadian, I don’t have knowledge of US Colleges. I believe that Coach North gave me solid advice on which colleges to focus my energy on and send emails to, as well as where I needed to improve based on HUDL tapes. “

Class of 2019 – Student-Athlete – Track
“I like your app and would be likely to recommend it to a friend. Sometimes some of your information and videos are redundant. I would like more info specifically geared towards endurance training for runners, nutrition, recovery from injuries, and that type of info. Thank you for helping me to contact college coaches. That is very helpful.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Basketball
“I am very involved in my son’s basketball, and this brings me in contact with many parents – at trainings, at camps, at practices, etc. – and I have recommended NCSA. I think there is a tremendous amount of benefit that can come from a service like NCSA if used in a committed, strategic way. I think we are getting about 25% of that benefit, but we are going to fix that this year! And, the problems seem to be mostly with us. We enjoy working with Eric. He has been very supportive and very helpful, and I intend on working with him much more closely in the upcoming months. The problem has been finding time that works for us both – his schedule fills up very quickly, and we have limited windows with everything going on in our family. Most of the parents I know through basketball are in the same situation. The investment in NCSA is not a small one, and I’d like to be able to get the most out of this investment and be certain that parents I recommend NCSA to will be able to do the same.”

4-Star and Below Reviews of NCSA

While only 4 percent of our reviews fall into this category, we don’t take it lightly when families aren’t satisfied with our service. We regularly read this feedback to find ways we can improve.

Class of 2021 – Parent – Basketball
“My son was rated as a D3 basketball player when he’s 6’6.5 with shoes and still growing (He’s supposed to grow for three more years).  Plus, he has a legit shot of playing for a circuit team.  The reality of the situation is kids at his height don’t play D3. The rating makes the product almost worthless.”

Class of 2021 – Parent – Basketball
“It seems like D2, D3, JC and NAIA schools use the site more, so if the athlete wants to play at the D1 level, this isn’t the way to go. However, it is helpful with making contact with a variety of schools quickly. I’m not knocking the site, but personally the cost is high for the actual usefulness.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Baseball
“We need more communication. We need access to more baseball camps and college showcases in California.”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Baseball
“I felt the support and excitement up front was great, but after a few months, we were less clear on our next steps etc. I would like monthly assignments and check-in calls to ensure we remain on track.”

Class of 2021 – Parent – Softball
“I felt the staff were awesome. I am not satisfied about feeling a little bit of pressure to sign up for a membership. After talking more about it with my recruiter and Zowie (both who were awesome), I am feeling I should have waited on this one more year with my daughter. I have very little to add for the coaches to view because she is in 8th grade and has no transcripts, HS coaches’ recommendations or videos.”

Class of 2016 – Parent – Lacrosse
“I didn’t think you helped when asked specifically to contact the coach on Jake’s behalf for his top three choices.”

Class of 2019 – Parent – Lacrosse
“There are some great parts about NCSA, like the access to college coaches and availability of customer service. For the money, however, I expected a little more help and guidance on how to make the profile the best it can be and what it may be missing to attain the attention of the schools they want, not necessarily the schools NCSA thinks they should be looking at. The evaluation session was somewhat helpful in bringing our attention to schools we would have never thought of, however it did not give us feedback on how to keep the attention of coaches we have already had contacted. With all the colleges out there, I know it was a lot of work and research and I appreciate it, but we were looking for more guidance on higher level schools.”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Softball
“Many components of the process are things that can be done on your own outside of NCSA.  I’m appreciative of any visibility the program brings but not certain if projecting performance level is always the most beneficial for athlete.”

Class of 2020 – Parent – Football
“I greatly appreciate NCSA University and information at that is well organized and easily accessible; however, thus far, we are not seeing the connection with coaches that we had hoped.  Recognizing my athlete is a sophomore, I understand more activity will come.”
