Do college coaches use NCSA? In short, Yes! Throughout our 18-year history, we’ve consistently improved the college coach experience so they can now easily and efficiently identify, evaluate, and recruit athletes. In fact, we’ve redefined how coaches recruit athletes by giving them a reliable, online tool to find and evaluate thousands of recruits. While we would love every college coach to use NCSA every day, we know the most important thing is that every college program uses NCSA in some way to identify and evaluate recruits. The truth is, not every college coach is going to log in to NCSA to discover athletes, but through our strategic partnerships and innovative approach, we can ensure every college program is using our platform as part of its recruiting process.
Colleges across the U.S. use the NCSA platform to discover and make evaluations of recruits. Some coaches log in to NCSA, while others talk to our coach relations teams or watch an athlete’s NCSA highlight film. No matter the method, college coaches are using the NCSA Athletic Recruiting Network to discover, evaluate and eventually sign athletes.
The “coach view” has become part of the college recruiting process. When a college coach views an athlete’s profile, the athlete receives a notification and can take a proactive step to reach out to that school.
Recruiting is only one of many responsibilities for college coaches. We built the “athlete follow” to allow coaches to receive automatic updates about the recruits they are interested in. When a coach follows an athlete on the NCSA platform, they get immediate updates when that athlete uploads new video, adds academic information, and more. This simple feature is an easy way for coaches to stay on top of prospects in each recruiting class.
Before a centralized recruit database, it was impossible for college coaches to find all of their potential recruits. Through the NCSA platform coaches have been able to zero in on all of the recruits that meet their athletic and academic requirements. For example, if they are looking for all left-handed pitchers, on the west coast with a 3.5 GPA or above, they can quickly find them. This feature also makes it easier for each recruit to find the program that is going to be their right fit.
Through a deep integration, college coaches can search and add athletes directly to their recruiting software from NCSA. This new advancement is just getting started, but already has resulted in over half a million athlete profiles getting added to recruiting classes across the country.
